We are a dedicated team of caring professionals, between us we have decades of experience to ensure the best possible funeral.
DAVID HOLMES
David is our founder, he’s passionate about funerals and believes they should be the best possible experience for the bereaved. He’s often called upon to speak in the media, most recently on BBC Radio’s 2 and 4, as well as LBC’s breakfast programme.
OLIVER HOLMES Dip F.A.A, Dip F.D
Oliver is in day-to-day charge of every funeral and believes the work we do is a privilege, a calling not a job. He is an ex professional rugby player and has a Geography Degree. Oliver also holds several funeral industry qualifications.
ALEX HARE Dip F.A.A
Alex joined us after we assisted his family with a funeral. He has a Diploma in funeral directing and administration and is working towards the higher national qualification. His tutor describes him as an exceptional student working at an extremely high level.
MICHELLE CARTER
Michelle from Yateley, is usually found at our Camberley funeral home in Sandhurst. She was inspired to become a funeral arranger when her Dad died and luckily for us, she joined Holmes and Family where she makes a huge difference to the people she cares for.
SHARON TAYLOR
Sharon lives in Ash and works at Holmes Aldershot branch. She joined us from our trusted florist because she had always wanted to be a funeral arranger. She is highly regarded both by her colleagues and the families who put their faith in her.
GRAHAM MADGE
Graham is usually found at Holmes Ashford Surrey office. He came to funeral directing later in life but is an exceptionally kind person who will do whatever it takes to make sure the people in his care receive the best possible funeral experience.
KIAN PALMER
Kian is our apprentice, who joined us after we looked after the funeral arrangements of his Great Grandparents. He is a thoughtful, caring and mature young man who we believe has a great career ahead of him as a qualified funeral director.
MADELEINE HOLMES
Like her brothers and sister, Madeleine grew up with funerals as a part of her daily life. She has been a funeral arranger and driver. These days she works mostly on our communications and marketing which have become a vital part of caring for local families.
PETER SHIRREFF
Peter has spent many years working in funerals, and we would be lost without him. Originally, he worked for a large corporate funeral director where he loved the work but wanted to join a smaller family run and owned firm. He is a vital member of our small team.
DANE BAKER
Dane runs the Holmes and Family Farnborough office. He’s a retired Baptist Minister who we came to know as a trusted funeral celebrant. With years of experience, his kindness and compassion are appreciated by all of us as well as the people he looks after so brilliantly.
LAURENCE HOLMES
Laurence Holmes has arranged and conducted many funerals but is also a fully qualified architect. When we are busy, he still helps out, either in the office or with funerals and so remains a valued member of the H&F team.
