HOW WE CAN HELP YOU
EXPERTS AT LISTENING
Over the last 40 years, we have become experts at listening. We have learned that just as no two people are the same, no two funerals need be either. Which is why the first thing we always do is make time to listen. We can arrange as much or as little as you wish and be as supportive or discreet as you want us to be. From a simple or traditional funeral to a modern celebration of a life well lived, Holmes and Family are dedicated to making it perfect with our personal and friendly service. Please call if you would like to speak to one of us about the funeral service you need to arrange, we are always here to help and advise on what is possible and how between us we can arrange the perfect send-off.

ORGANISING A FUNERAL?
• Take your time – unless it’s for religious reasons, there is usually no rush.
• Take charge, or get a friend to help you who may be less emotionally involved.
• Focus on the funeral – it’s about what is said and done, not how much you spend.
• When it’s over, you want to look back forever with pride. We are a small family run independent business, Oliver, Alex, David and Sarah will be involved in every aspect of the funeral from start to finish. Because we are small, we have time to listen, time to discuss, we don’t have any non-family shareholders or Head Office to please. You are our priority. Always.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FUNERAL DIRECTOR?
There are many different funeral directors but not all operate to the same standards. We recommend taking time to research the right funeral director for you and your family so that you feel comfortable entrusting them with the arrangements. Our suggestions would be to;
Ask family and friends if they could make recommendations. Look for online reviews on Google.
Make sure the funeral director is part of a trade organisation and compliant with their code of conduct. This could be SAIF for example, who will inspect the premises and processes of the funeral director to ensure that high standards are being maintained.
Discuss the costs involved with the type of funeral you wish to arrange,
Check if the funeral director is part of a large group. National corporate funeral directors often present as families business although their ultimate ownership is not by the family name over the door, you may not be dealing with the same people you did previously. This information is available on all funeral directors websites as required by the CMA.
