Perhaps it’s as straightforward as Cremation or Burial, but you might have questions about burial at sea, DIY or even cryogenics. Whatever your questions, we can help and advise you. Visiting in our Chapel of Rest, Ministers, Church Services, we’re here to help you get exactly what you wish, even if you think you have an unusual request, just try us! We have conducted many funerals for people of all faiths and none. We arrange funerals locally or even nationally. In the past we have arranged funerals in all parts of London, Bournemouth, Bridport, Cambridge, even the Isle of Wight! Wherever you want the funeral to take place, just ask!
When someone dies the choices are many and varied. Some of us leave express wishes, for instance we may have decided to be cremated and have clearly specified where and when, even what hymns should be sung, some people choose their favourite flowers too! Many will know what will happen to their ashes (cremated remains) afterwards. Some families have already made a choice of cemetery, perhaps using an existing family plot? Whatever your wishes, if it’s possible and legal we will make sure you get it – and we have ideas if you’re not sure. Unlike most funeral directors, we’ll even sell you a coffin for DIY!
New developments include more environmentally friendly ‘woodland burials.’ This involves interment at a natural site without a traditional memorial, often a tree is planted instead. The woodland burial site retains a natural appearance – even when full. The service can be a simple grave side service or a Church service prior to the committal.
Liaising with overseas funeral directors we have helped many people return home to the country of their birth for burial. We can advise on airline costs and the various legal procedures required. We repatriate remains into Britain for those who have died abroad, perhaps on holiday. We’ve become quite expert over the years. Just ask us, sometimes even the airlines and cargo agents do!
Many people choose something other than a traditional shaped veneer or solid wood coffin. We have cardboard coffins, wicker basket coffins, even amazing looking painted coffins, (football team colours, cars, trains, boats, flowers, scenery, cats, tigers! Using the latest photographic techniques anything seems possible!) We also supply American caskets that are as exquisite as any piece of beautiful furniture you may have seen. Regardless of choice, the materials are from sustainable sources.
We’re proud of our clean and highly polished cars, but these days Hearses are not just big black limousines. People choose Horse drawn hearses (black and white) with matching plumes. We can organise a vintage Albion lorry, an old Rolls Royce or even a motorbike with side-car. The coffin is carried with dignity, ideal for bike nuts! Remember funerals are whatever you want them to be, just ask!
Over the years we’ve appeared many times on TV as undertakers. Funerals have been arranged and conducted on all channels! We’ve featured in ITV’s The Bill many times and worked with some of Britain’s best loved TV stars. Highlights include John Thaw and Joanna Lumley.
